This is provided for - the govt's budgeted spending on burn pits has been increased from US5b to US20b in 2024 to account for this.
There is also an argument for diagnosing and treating CB sooner - so that the VA doesn't have to incur more expensive medical costs if the veterans condition sadly deteriorates into say cancer (which does happen). But I guess who knows if the VA thinks logically.....
