From Rosie’s previous post and articles there in, I understand the reason for the call for biopsies to be included is that the new diagnostic code (DC) does not include biopsy confirmed CB as a criteria to be eligibility to bill to that DC for benefits. It instead includes outdated criteria such as PFT. The problem is that PFT tests in many cases are normal for veterans with biopsy confirmed CB. In this case, they want to include biopsies as a criterion so that veterans who already have this biopsy confirmation don’t miss out on benefits or can get immediate access to benefits once the code kicks in.
Of course, as per the post linked my Kain, Rosie is continuing to advocate for non-invasive technologies.
