That SH are here to pay his mortgage and school fees and generally backstop him from failure . Hes created a win/win proposition if he succeeds his shares are worth a lot of money if he fails for 5 years he gets pretty healthy salary all the way through
I would expect more skin in the game from an owner manager - anyone with a grain of honour and self-respect would not draw a salary having presided over such heavy SH losses.
