Absolutely not. ALL the following have to be considered, the priority changes depending on user. A high performance sport model has far different priorities than an around Town Taxi. The problem is many read About long range, high performance, Fast charge times in different articles and think they get all of them in a year or two and do not recognize the conflict between them. Go back and read the 2020 announced about the 4680 battery. Its first application was an upgrade to the model Y. It severely underperformed. And cost did not go down. In fact, Tesla has gone back to the old battery for high performance, long range Model Y's.
For Example the TPPL Lead acid battery beats LI on Cost/ WH, charge and discharge rate by a lot. But it is big and heavy making it poor for a car except starting.
Here is a list of considerations priorities change depending on what you need.
CostMany others but these are the big ones and many are trade offs. Many change depending on battery state. IE The higher the total charge in a battery the lower the charge rates. This is why most say unless you need high range only charge 80% and discharge to 20% you lose 40% of capacity and range. All manufactures range numbers are based on full charge to full discharge. You will damage your batteries if you do this verry often or at high temps.
- Energy density for size
- Energy density for weight
- Max Discharge current. Gives blazing fast acceleration and top Speeds.
- Max Charge Current Fast charge times
- Heat build up. Limits long term high output and charge currents.
- Battery life
Both are great it is impossible to say which is better without defining the application fully
