Hi Laine, it wouldnt matter if you have an annual income or not, I understand the losses that are suffered are not money back, they are credit against further gains on the market, so if you say had $20K loss then you would offset that loss against future gains, I may be wrong, I am sure there will be an accountant or someone who has had a loss that can confirm or advise the correct information.
