There is one possibility that I forgot to touch on, a pump in preparation for a capital raising.
I've seen this with a number of companies, they do a presentation, pump the share price up then dump a "discounted" capital raising on the market. The raising usually takes place within about two weeks of the presentation.
If this reason is the excuse for the share price spike then I'd be expecting an announcement next week given their presentation was on 13/3/13.
