I actually liked the book by Richard Condon better than the original movie and much better than the recent remake, although Merryl did do quite a good Hillary imitation.
The reference to a Manchurian Candidate as a nefarious way to gain control of our government and thus complete social, industrial and foreign policy control, was not meant to be original as such, but the obvious rudd as Manchurian Candidate, union, leftist and biased media connection seemed to be an interesting train of thought to follow.
The connection to the ongoing US election campaign and to hillary's many dubious funding sources as she follows in bill's footsteps seemed to be quite interesting and obvious also.
The propect of elements of the chinese military gaining control of the elected governments of both the US, as the major strategic opponent of China for now and the future, and of Australia as the major strategic supplier for essential commodities and a country with a major strategic say in the affairs of Asia, is very real and dangerous possibility. It would be irresponsible to ignore this potential disaster and explore the implications
Our election systems in the US and in Australia are extremely vulnerable to deceptive forms of outright manipulation as we see in the distortions and bias of the leftist 24 hour news/media/entertainment complex in the US and in Australia that have decided that a democrat should win the upcoming election in the US, and that the union bosses should be handed power nation-wide in Austraila.
Determined expolitation of this obvious vulnerability of our democratic process is an obvious imperative. The chinese military are just one of the players who would find it sensible to exploit this imperitive and have the most to gain from the many various other players.
Even you must admit that these union thugs are not smart enough to come up with a fairly clever asymetric warfare strategy that seems to have caught John Howards team unawares. It could not have worked at all without the leftist drumbeat of the equivalence of policy in the "me-too" strategy.
However, equivalence of a pretend policy is not the same as equivalence of either true intent or ability to impliment the pretend policy.
