wouldn't it be good if government policy was based on evidence rather than guesswork
we know how many asylum seekers there are at the moment and we can measure the trend - it is also possible to monitor the departures from their countries of origin
why throw in an argument that has no substance in fact to support a view. there is zero evidence to suggest that they would kill each other to get on ships
there is zero evidence to suggest that the numbers would multiply dramatically
it's all very well to throw abuse at people who have different views but to back that abuse up with fabrication is even more absurd
nobody can dispute using the evidence that policy over the last 10-20 years has failed and is still failing. a different approach is required not more of the same
nether the right nor the left have the faintest idea what to do - whatever they try, it just gets worse. time for something different. the howard policy did not work and cost far too much merely transferred the problem from one place to another and our immigration figures blew out. those who think the previous policy worked are just proving how effective spin is and why they keep doing it
