I agree that they were fair comments and I’m acutely aware of Mark’s contribution to the business since his appointment which are admirable. However, looking through the rear view mirror is all well and good but looking through the windscreen now is what’s important to me. As you say, who knows whether he’s able to take the business to the next level? What I do know is how the business has performed in recent times and judging by the SP action over that period, the market doesn’t seem to have much confidence in it. Regardless, I’m of the view that a CEO’s tenure should be reviewed after five years which, in the case of APX, seems logical given the tenure of the current CEO and the recent performance of the business. As an investor in the business, I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt pending the FY21 results announcement and wish him well. However, another downgrade or missing the lower end of current guidance would be a deal breaker for me as n investor.
