Resigned or gently nudged? Could be they are now after more firepower and Tony was not quite up to managing the next stage. Probably is a good sign on balance as the CEO and his deputies are still gung-ho and it is time for serious expansion necessitating the appointment of a swag of new directors to take the next big step. With that size increase looming they probably feel they need a new figurehead.
