Resolution 7 and Resolution 8, page-2

My initial reaction is that I don't believe that it's in my best interest as a small retail shareholder. I'm concerned that RIM can claim to have no associates when their investment was made in association with others, including current directors I might add, under the same or similar terms. I think the vote will have no trouble passing with the support of these non-associates. It's my belief that the main inhibitor to a fair value share price is the controlling interest that the major shareholders currently hold. Institutions have avoided BRL for this reason. A reduced share price due to the offloading of shares by RIM to meet takeover requirements is the consequence in the short term because there will be little buying interest due to current share register concerns. I'll look at it more carefully tomorrow and happy to hear others opinions too.
