I have a PhD in the physical chemistry of polymers and surfaces. US postdoc in chemical engineering, in nanoparticle synthesis, neutron scattering, that sort of thing. CSIRO where I worked with a brilliant local company on blood glucose sensing, that tech is now the basis of most blood glucose test strips on the market. Ran R&D programmes for a big pharma and consumer product co. Got out of that and spent a long time building silicon chips, specifically some very sophisticated microfluidic chips. I got interested in energy, so now I'm head of engineering for an energy company. Was an adjunct prof in computing and electrical engineering along the way. Still very interested in bimolecular sciences and might move in that direction again one day. So yeah, I've operated across a lot of the physical, engineering and bio sciences.
