As I read this last post by KurtRichenbacher re Dan Denning's analyses, Marius Klodhoppers is on the ABC Lateline Business....

Denning says BHP built its profit on higher commodity prices, not from correspondingly higher productin volumes.

    True.

This was put to Kloppers. His reply: volume growth has been a consistent 7% for several years.

    What's it all mean?

As Kloppers report said yesterday---- there is limited output to meet demand, and that in itself guarantees higher prices.

The most fundamental equation in economics: demand-supply.
