I just checked out a 12 mo Ni graph and as good as I could read it, Ni was about 8000 USD/ ton about mid Jan 2003. That gives (14700-8000)/8000 x 100 or about 84%, (say somewhere around 80%, allowing for errors in reading the graph) increase in a year.
Where did you get your percentage increase?
