Since we're talking about the legal position...the JV partner has clearly breached its contract with Iau. Iau is entitled to damages. This is a basic principle of all legal systems.
Quantification of damages is tough because it requires an assessment of the current value of the asset and potential future value.
Yet to commence a proceeding would be self-defeating because a.) it isolates the jv partner and cruels any chance of a commercial resolution and b.) litigation could take years, and the Indonesian legal system is notoriously corrupt.
Now I'm just stating the obvious.
