CITADEL ANNOUNCES NEW DATA BOOST FOR UPGRADE
OF JABAL SAYID COPPER-ZINC RESOURCE
Historic data unveiled today by Sydney-based Citadel Resource Group (ASX: “CGG”) will further enhance the upgraded JORC compliant resource estimate currently being prepared for the Company’s Jabal Sayid copper-zinc project in Saudi Arabia.
Citadel said today in its quarterly report that newly-recovered historical data had been verified and could now be used in the current upgrade of the Jabal Sayid (Citadel 50%) resource model.
Ms Inés Scotland, CEO of Citadel, said that this second electronic database of
previous drilling results had been obtained from the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) which provided significant additional detailed information previously unavailable to the project.
“The recovered ‘BRGM and SEREM.US Steel’ series holes are particularly critical to the resource model for Lode 4, and to a lesser extent Lode 1,” Ms Scotland said.
“This recovered data will enable close spaced sampling data to be used in the
Resource Update where it was previously either not available or only available in summary format.”
The detailed historical data recovered from the Saudi Geological Survey (Table 1) contains material intersections at Jabal Sayid, with notable intersections including:
• 235m @ 2.37% Cu SA101 (Lode 4)
• 169m @ 2.54% Cu SA114 (Lode 4)
• 159m @ 1.77% Cu SA112 (Lode 4)
• 99m @ 1.31% Cu, 1.73% Zn SA113 (Lode 1)
Updated resource in 2008 first quarter:
Ms Scotland said work was underway to update and re-categorise the current
Resource of 46Mt @ 1.8% Cu at Jabal Sayid.
“The updated resource will be released in February 2008 and will update tonnes and re-categorise some of the Resource from Inferred to Indicated,” Ms Scotland said. “It is clear that this database will be a valuable source of additional detailed assay and other information for the current updated resource program.”
he initial JORC compliant resource announced earlier this year for Jabal Sayid
includes 828,000 tonnes of contained copper and 87,000 tonnes of contained zinc but does not include results from Citadel’s successful 2007 drilling program on the expanding deposits.
