DJ MARKET TALK: Metgasco Surges; Resource Upgrade Soon
0036 GMT [Dow Jones] Metgasco (MEL.AU) extends last week's handsome run, up 15
cents or 18% at 99 cents, highest level since July 2008, doubling from a week ago, when
it announced a major conventional gas discovery in New South Wales after drilling
Kingfisher-E1 well. Share price rise comes ahead of expected increase in estimated
resource at this field likely to be issued in coming days. A minor element in
today's rise could be due to extensive coal seam methane interests with new well to
be spudded over weekend, progress in development of 30 megawatt gas-fired power station
at Casino.(RCB)
