There’s no shortage of gold companies with a $51 million market cap which are trying to justify their existence with results of 2.5gpt.

But how many do you know with a market cap of $2.5 million and results of 51gpt?

Ten Bagger has just come across one and would like to share it with our valued readers before tens of thousands of investors get to learn of this fledgling in a report that will be published in the Resources Rising Stars magazine in the Australian Financial Review this coming Wednesday.

Aside from the leverage offered by its miniscule market cap, Erin’s key attraction is its Lingokoto gold project in Senegal.

Lingokoto showed its enormous promise earlier this year when results from a very limited first round of drilling returned 6m at 51.5gpt along with a host of other highly encouraging hits.

The Erin team understandably sprang into action, undertaking a further program of soil sampling in a bid to get a better idea of just what it might be sitting on. And what an idea it got.

The results unveiled by Erin this week extended the length of the soil anomaly to a whopping 1.5km and left it open in both directions.

In light of this, Erin has returned immediately to the field. More soil sampling is already underway to further extend the known size of the anomaly and preparations for drilling are well advanced, with the first hole set to be sunk within a couple of weeks.

The mere thought of what could happen to this tiny market cap should the new results be anything like the old ones could be bad for one’s health. And a quick look at who is in the neighbourhood won’t do much to keep pulses at bay either.

Just an African mile away lies Randgold’s Loulo mine, resplendent with more than 12 million ounces. Within a 15km radius sits Randgold’s 3.6Moz beauty Massawa, Toro Gold’s 1.6Moz Petowal deposit and Teranga Gold’s 2.4Moz Sabodala mine.

History has it that all these world-class deposits came to light thanks to early-stage drilling results.
