sounds simple, but when some religions promote persecuting & killing people that follow other religions & non-religions (because they believe theirs is the ONLY one true religion) what do you expect?
what is important is honouring goodness & peacefulness
goodness & peacefulness are superior to religion
religious people should only be respected if they are good & peaceful
being "religious" does not create an automatic right to be respected
