I had e-mail following to Connxion for their response regarding the scalability of ConnXion with respect to customer size:
    QUOTE:
I can see that at the volumes of data that major corporations use, ConnXion is able to offer cost effective solutions. Although I expect that those companies already have substantial in house billing and document distribution or have already contracted those activities. As such ConnXion would have to convince those corporations that ConneXion offer a substantial better and/or cheaper service. However, what I would like to understand is, at what level of organisation can ConnXion's services be cost effective to use.
For example, can a small consultancy organisation effectively use ConnXion? Is there certain document volume and/or rate below which it is not cost effective to use ConnXion? Also, even if ConnXion is cost effective for such small organisation, would those clients still be profitable to ConnXion?

The Connxtion CEO, David Colvin was kind enough to give me the following quick reply:
    QUOTE:
The ConnXion service is a hosted outsourced service and therefore apart from the initial implementation works automatically and cost effectively for all organisations. The entry cost ranges from $5,000 to $10,000, hence is dependant on the volume and also the value of transactional documents being delivered.
Most of our clients and prospects do deliver many thousands of documents every month. However we do see the small to medium market as an excellent opportunity for CXN and are currently progressing with a simpler 'standardised' service that will appeal to smaller entities and enable CXN to acquire and maintain such clients cost effectively. We expect this new service to be available in the next 3 to 6 months and are currently collaborating with some of our partners to maximise the opportunity.
As you say, for medium to large enterprises there are alternatives and we do focus on our service being better and more cost effective as well as having shorter timeframes to market. We do have clear differentiation that is bring us good sucess which I expect to continue during 2008 and beyond.
    UNQUOTE.
