I just had a look at the latest financial report on the oldest MIS plantation not yet harvested. Despite a tree survival rate of only 52.2% and expected oil yield of only 10.5 kg, the financials look extremely healthy for the original investors. Total contributions from growers is $2.5M, whereas total grower funds is now $13.656M. Not a bad return, even with low survival rates and lowish yields.
No wonder QIN has no trouble selling all of their plantations each year to investors. With expectations of survival rates now over 80% and oil yields around 19 kg, returns should continue to be strong for new plantings.
