An SP collapse helps those who want to buy more EGN - Dale Elphinstone has just thrown over $1 million at EGN. Dale did not become Tasmania's richest man at a comparably young age by accident - he is smart.
I understand that EGN's subsidiary, Gemco, is the Australian distributor of Caterpillar's subsidiary, Progress Rail Services, which itself owns Electro-Motive Diesel Inc (EMD). If you look at recent announcements made by DOW, you can read that it has picked up locomotive business from TasRail and BHP, and EMD and Progress Rail are mentioned therein. I do not know if Gemco gets a small cut of this business, it being the Australian distributor of Progress Rail Services. Young Dale would know. These words are merely the product of a conspiratorial mindset, so do not read too much into them - the impact of DOW's contract wins could be negligible.
I hold 13487 EGN shares - the bitter fruits of a disastrous foray into CXG a few years ago. Why Michael Coote was never prosecuted for inflating profits via the Greentrains business surprises me.
