Harper also said that he starts every board meeting by asking whether the company is still solvent. He offered the role of chairman to anyone who would be willing to take the risk of what might happen if the company trades while insolvent. At this point, Jason Darko was about to speak up, but seemed to decide against it.
Harper was also willing to sell any part of the company that anyone was willing to buy, whether the Australian assets or the iron ore, but that nobody was interested in buying.
