In medicine, with experience, comes the appreciation that despite all our text books, clinical trials, diagnostic testing, and learned professors, patients often just don't respond to a treatment like they are supposed to (damn it!). It's due to the profound complexity and variability of living organisms. Yet our medical knowledge is founded on a much greater level of empiric evidence than exists in the share market. So if I am cagey about prognostic advice given to a patient, anyone making confident predictions about the outcome of Neuren's trials is deluding themselves.
