You will find that before the reformation the bulk of Europe and the Christian world were either Catholic, Orthodox or Easten and maybe some other minor ones float around, there was no such thing as Bible alone, this invention like many are just recent by American evangelists
There were no Bible alone all this came about after Luther sais "Bible alone" or "sola Scriptura " and there is no way around this
