How else can we be human. We are creatures born of stories and abstract thought, metaphor and magic, a mind that wanders all over the place. We looked for narcotic herbs, magic honey and mushrooms and built smoke huts everywhere we have lived. Inuit even drink reindeer piss after they eat a certain poisonous mushroom so they can get trippy.
And we have spent eons sitting by fires making up stories to try to comprehend the incomprehensible. This still influences everything in our lives, we must be entertained all the time, especially the religious folk. Our advancement is very rapid but we still carry in us all the myth and magic from not that long ago. Give us another thousand years or so and we will get a bit more real.
So what if Christianity is more Voodoo than it cares to admit.
