From what I gather (would have to check), he didn't literally see Jesus and you are also speaking of a before and after the resurrection, two different contexts.
But the fact of the matter is, it was the Same Jesus and not a look a like, come like your prophet.

God and Jesus in each other = effectively by their word, which is also deemed as the spirit of them.
I and the Father are one = one in word, which naturally automatically brings Unity in one.
