And yet every Joe Blow is saying "this is what actually happened" meaning that they know what the Authors were thinking and trying to say. We, in fact, think we know so much about the meaning of these scriptures that we're it to go against reason and intellect, we would accept it.

Even the Apostles didn't know sometimes what the meaning of Jesus's teachings were, and yet 2000 years later we are asserting history where no records exist.

because they (prophecy) were UNAWARE of the mystery waiting to be revealed through Paul.
eg 1 Cor2:8
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
