wam didn’t buy Amaysim in a general sense... it bought the residual corporate entity, once Optus had stripped amaysim of its core business. What remained was basically a shell that had $100m of franking credits, this is what wam bought.
in theory the same thing could happen to Myer, but this would require premier to make a takeover offer. Wam isn’t the kind of company that has a history of predatory moves on listed companies with the intention of gutting them.
