While it doesn't give information about sales or profit, interesting to observe on Easter Monday that the MYR flagship Melbourne CBD store is very busy - best that's been seen for months - with an excellent number of shoppers on the ladies' clothing floor.

The MYR 'Easter Treats super sale' with features such as 25 per cent off ladies' coats must be helping to drag shoppers in. It worked for my household.

It's been pleasing in the last few months to observe how frequently MYR refreshes its website. Discounts vary but the MD Mr John King and his staff seem to understand how to keep the digital (and physical store) offerings capturing or retaining prospective shoppers' interest.

It's an expensive day salaries/wages-wise for retailers with public holiday penalty rates, but should be more than compensated for if high sales volumes are achieved.

That Melbourne had a few days of very warm weather (up to 32 degrees on one day) but now has become much cooler gives the message that the change of seasons is upon this southern state, and so encourages Victorians to search for autumnal/winter wardrobe items.

One can't say trading in Melbourne for MYR is 'back to normal' at physical stores but seeing good numbers as opposed to two and a dog is most encouraging.

Across the continent it appears that Adelaide and Perth may be approaching 'change of seasons' too after some hot weather while rain expected in Sydney will help convince residents that it's no longer a summery time.
