In-line engineering changes/improvements to consumer electronic products occur all the time without changing product/model number. Check nearly every modem or router and there'll be a history of changes during the model life, some minor (like the IQBuds tweak), some major (e.g. using a completely different chipset.). Would you prefer that the company withhold improvements (software or hardware) until they announce a new version or slipstream them into the production line as soon as they can?
Most of the IQBuds product improvements are from firmware updates. Do you think the company is in legal jeopardy for not announcing that the initially-released product would be improved over its life by firmware upgrades that it never promised?
