    Yeah. Fair point. Pinoys are very family orientated. But I guess it's a small sacrifice to move somewhere safer for love.

    I'm in Oz at the moment. But I own a house in Cabanatuan City, NE. So central Luzon region. Not really a place that tourists or retirees would think of. Not really near the beach, not really near manila. Mainly rural farm land. But it's peaceful and cheap.

    In the process of buying a Condo in Mandaluyong wich is very inner Manila. Not somewhere I'd want to live. But near the airport and might use it occasionally, but probably more of an investment property.

    In reality, I'd probably prefer something more touristy like Cebu. But we settled where the wife was born. But other than no major nearby attractions, I have no complaints. And it's nothing a Jeepney can't overcome.

    As you'd know, most resorts have pools that non-guests can use for a fee. So still plenty of nice places to cool down. Great malls. Interesting day trips, etc.
