Thanks Nathan...know the area..skirted your place a few times without actually entering the city....and that was many years ago. Doing the tourist drives with relatives from Manila behind the wheel. Actually smart location! Bit away from the east coast and the typhoons slamming in....but you have Manila a couple hours away if you need it....Legaspi has been on the improve last couple years too...starting to turn into the tourist city it should be. New boardwalk is great from what I hear.
Understand your reservations about Mandaluyong....Wife has floated a Makati condo a couple times....and I'm thinking yeah...nice for about two weeks a year...We've got a large block in a secure subdivision along with several politicians etc....just north of Bacolod. Not really sure if we'll use it or not...I prefer Dumaguete, great expat crowd there - really well organised, but the wife has relatives, some quite far up the food chain, in Bacolod. And then again...I do like life here in Oz too...
Might just flip a coin at some point....
