Agree with what you say about the younger brigade. Our society I think is heading the wrong way in that tertiary studies are no longer required to perform day to day jobs. People are just being told what to do and they do it. The majority of work these days involves sales and marketing which we all know do not need much lateral thinking. This will create severe problems in the future as when the top line people disappear (retire) there will be a stalling of new technologies taking off. It will be the countries with a much more intelligent workforce that will pave the way for others.
We are heading more and more to becoming a "dumber" country.
