That's the main reason I was able to exit very early Play2Win.
The thinking was to allow younger people into the work place and give them a go.
How times change. And so quickly.
Now, the powers-that-be want us to remain in the workforce as long as possible but I don't know how 'labourers' can keep up the pace. I know so many who have been physically worn out. Fortunately, it didn't happen to me. Physically I was, and remain, okay but I couldn't go back to even a 'cushy' job. The boredom, dealing with the public and tolerating back-biting, little, penpushers would send me insane.
Age and attitude make me unemployable even if I wanted it - thank Heaven.
But I do feel sorry for those who need or want to be employed and are denied the opportunity because of age.
