I'm in Perth also. 60 yrs old. Had an 800 sq m block in Doubleview. Do not like gardening!
Sold it 4 years ago, moved near to Stirling station. Bigger house but only a 400 sq metre block.
Wife and I LOVE IT!
50 metres to coffee, pizza, more coffee, liquor store; 500 metres to IGA, butcher, news agent etc. [I ride the treadly there]
We are connected to the city by the train [2 stops]- car stays in the garage most weekends.
It's one of life's great mysteries to me why people cling to their big suburban homes when the kids have gone....
Sell the white elephant, downsize [which doesn't mean a smaller house!], buy some good divi paying blue chips, and do stuff you like.....
Funny, I now like gardening but it's all in pots and things and it takes me about 15 minutes to do all the watering
