you have no idea how wealthy the older generation is until one day they let you see what they have got.
They say time in the market is the key and my uncle is almost 90. I had absolutely no idea what he owned.
I thought he was complete novice when it came to investing. Anyway he showed me the other day.
He had over $300,000 in WOW, $400,000 in BHP, $300,000 in WPL, $250,000 in WES
He owns a couple of investment properties too plus his own home.
I will not be getting any of it as he will be leaving it all to the Salvation Army and some of the other organisations he is involved in.
Which is fine by me. I hardly ever visited or showed any interest in him while he was alive, so I don't deserve anything.
But just imagine if he were take that money out of the country and say give it to some charity in the Philipines, I reckon it wouldn't be so good for Australia.
The interesting thing though is that there are lot like him around.
