One of the factors holding us back is the number of shares available. Take out the top 20 and we still have 740 million shares between the likes of you, me and the day traders.
25 million shares in a day is only 3% of the shares available.
The top 20 holds less than 1/3 of the total. I expect that as the story unfolds more big investors need to come into the top twenty. (I don't expect Xstrata to increase their 15% as they are probably tied to Glencore for now). Outside the top 5, the next 15 hold less than 10 million each.
A few more Change of Substantial Holding announcements ( new investors with 5%+ or current investors increasing their stakes) and Directors buying would help.
To get 5% of AVB you need 50 million shares or double what we have seen today.
This is what will break the pattern along with the onflow of good news.
