watso was trying to add up the number of shares traded in the last hour (excluding the closing auction) - but it was simply too many to count. whatever, it was, it amounted to nothing more than a frenzy. from memory, watso thought the turnover was a bit slowish earlier on in the day, and was wondering what the closing auction would reveal - and got a shock at the final volume
