the other thing about QAN's US flights is that they are the most profitable routes for it. so if it's US flights are booked out, its getting good margins. also, the rising $AUS makes air-fuel cheaper as they have to buy it in $US. All looking good for QAN on that front.
on the downside, is SARS and the Asian bird flu and more comp from Virgin on the trans tasman.
QAN has learned to be pretty flexible though, shifting routes and planes to where demand is greatest and cutting where demand has fallen. It just needs to work on getting its staff costs down further.
