    As Patient says, you pay tax on the dividend, not the capital return. The capital return comes into play when you sell your shares. If you haven't sold them, you don't really need to worry unless your cost base is zero. Then you will have a capital gain. I don't believe this is applicable to you or to many holders but obv I don't know your circumstances.

    The fully franked dividend is grossed up for the franking credits but you get the franking credits as an offset to reduce any tax that may be applicable.

    This will be on the statement (fully franked dividend and franking credits) you received from Nova along with the cheque which you would have cashed.

    It seems like you are unsure in regards to this and to be fair, it can be confusing so it may be worthwhile paying someone to do this for you. An tax agent/accountant can do this fairly easily.

    The prefill function on MyTax may already have this information filled in for you in the dividend section so just a matter of confirming it is correct.
