It works on so many levels and ensures they all go back to recycle with the reward for such a simple task being the refund - I remember when it was 2c then 5c and now 10c across them all - I just keep them all in the shed when it stacks up to amount equal to carton of a beer I take them in & get a free carton for the effort.

It also works wonders for the homeless or disadvantaged people that capitalise on the laziness of those that do throw bottles in the bin & provides some source of income for them while making sure those bottle end up in the right place.

Problem is Akki - that it costs more to clean and recycle glass than to use plastic once

Environment is not an issue when costs are involved
