After all, CJ, you have been 100% aligned with ausheds with respect to BEVs.

Batteries are getting much better, much cheaper, much quicker than many self-proclaimed experts surmised. $100/kWh is already surpassed as per stated plan.

$100/kWh Tesla Battery Cells This Year, $100/kWh Tesla Battery Packs In 2020

The knock-on impact of reducing cost on batteries so quickly is an acceleration of the ramp to mass production BEV. Production yet to catch up, but mega scale TOYOTA BYD CATL PANASONIC is an all-Asian juggernaut serving the two most populous and dynamic growth regions.

I would not be surprised at all to see the same companies reach out to TATA or Mahindra for mass market win-win JVs (which already exist for e-buses etc).

So Lynas serving Japan is also Lynas serving Chinese interests and Indian interests.

Little trickle to Bosch maybe? Now some HREEs to US, but again an economic trickle (also a tardy absolute strategic necessity).

Trump is interested in critical defense issues for certain, but those are relatively easily met or minor; he is much interested in investing in recovering/retaining the wealth of benefits that auto manufacturing brings including employment opps.

While Lynas will serve the immediate DOD needs and minor industrial requirements, Trump may see them as being already set up and not in a good stance for US and its other allies in the LT.

So the moves with Greenland we saw. There's plenty in Canada and US that needs to be developed if ROW is to have unfettered access to these technology metals and magnet metals more specifically. Trump wanted the mother lode; I get it. There may not be great options, but the mining and refining is the essential first enabler.
