You cannot come here hoping to have a rational argument of any kind as the position assumed by the vast majority of goldbugs is driven by a sickening attachment to some preconceived ideas in a way very similar to that found in religion. And you are right, because when you argue with religious people you are just wasting your time.

However by coming here not all is lost as one may be interested in clarifying one's ideas or/and in killing boredom, specially, when bedridden as it was the case with me twice during the course of the last two months.

You also mentioned that: People are moving out of US govt bonds because they do not want to be the last ones holding them as rates rise and face capital losses. That indeed seems to be the case. However, you can also say that those moving in want to do so only at a discount.
