If you read Bloomberg's article published today under the title Chipotle Eating Higher Avocado Cost Shows Fed Disinflation Worry (see link bellow), you realize immediately why deflation rather that inflation is still the issue confronting the Fed.
If the Fed was not under pressure by right wing America to stop QE earlier than latter, logic would tell that the Fed would be more inclined to stop QE rather latter than sooner. However with that not being the case we have to consider both possibilities and to infer from there the correct implications for gold.
I tend to believe in the Triumph of the Doves (see link bellow) and consequently that America is not going to experience a lost decade or two a la Japan. However I can be plain wrong as common sense sometimes does not prevail.
