They wouldn't be issued if the performance goals weren't achieved, these 2m shares are still only worth current SP hence the incentive to turn this around. I'm sure plenty made money from 20c up to $5.50, smart ones got out at the right time, and plenty more was made in shorts on the way back down.
As for non exec directors fees, seems reasonable that any decent company would pay this amount for quality guidance, US$300k covered maximum total pool for 3 directors from the beginning, now 5 sit on the board and it makes sense to increase this pool to US$500k, that's an average maximum annual payment of US$100k each, directors need to be incentivised as well, it's also their reputations on the line.
I'm cautiously in for the ST bounce, waiting paitiently.
