It's interesting that a lot of the smaller capped companies, like RFE, that are PRODUCERS, are suffering with their share prices. There are quite a few I have on my watch list that have shown a similar trend.
With the market conditions that we currently have, most traders have more interest in the "punt" and the "story" because you can make money easily (if you can time it right each trade!) with the upward volitility.Everybody gets on board......you can keep selling the story, you keep getting drilling results, product testing, expert opinions, MOU's, and so on. Partially similar to the lead up to the '87 crash.
At RFE we have sales, costs, PE ratios etc. Not a lot of punt in any of that. Then you have a story....a couple of hundred wells producing before 31/12/10.....again not a lot of fizz in that.
With the bots trading - have a look at HST (a small to medium size stock) every day of the week - now there is some serious botting! There is not much out there in RFE bot land UNLESS someone knows something about someone needing to exit the stock.
Most traders at HC would trade on-line, but there are still brokers out there. They too are keeping away from the stock. That could be a combination of all or some of my above points - but it must be something.
With forums like this, every thing management and directors do will be looked at, AND acted apon by HC investors - especially if it is costing us $$$$, and it appears that things are just not right. We only have to look at recent postings about directors that have multiple directorships!!
Until the fizz comes back, and the reasons behind the lack of interest and known (if they exist) then it's probably a bottom draw job. If you need the $$ for something else, or you are missing the "punt"/"story" opportunities that are around, you do not have many options - ie hard to get out in a hurry at a reasonable price.
As I have said before, I do hold, and I am not negative towards the stock. I just read it as it presents.
