LOL .. good post GBrad, so true ... but ... it's getting better than 10 years ago.. most Thai's under 22 can speak some English, as Thaskin put that into school study across the board, so these kids have grown up with some smarts ...

Always remember the religion plays a huge role in a Thai's life .. and the Buddist thing is "if it happens to me, then it was meant to happen" ... so 'mai bpen rai' and ride the motorbike 100km a hour, drunk, texting on the mobile, in the rain, with two drunk mates on the back .. no problem !! (there is no F or PH in the Thai language) .. although they write Phuket, it is pronounced by Thai's as 'Pu-ket" ... strange, but thats Thailand !! it's their country..

Things have changed last 5 years, as before it was us Farnags and the Thai's now that the Africans/MEast/Chinese/Indians or the 'smellies" as the Thai's call them, have the money for airfares, but still do not know manners of the Thai/farangs .... and so these can be very rude to Thai's.. and I could see how they could ignore the piles or shoes plus the signs at the temple door ways ... just give it to em .. the Thai's will not care, as you are not shouting at a Thai ...
