It also includes only the ‘free float’ of BPT when calculating an adjusted market cap. Seven Group’s 29% ownership of BPT will most likely be excluded in the free float. It is quite frustrating that BPT is not yet in ASX100. It will definitely help the share price if BPT is included. Also, there are a lot of fund managers who would prefer to invest in companies with at least $5b in market cap. A lot of funds are therefore underweight in BPT at the moment. But all these issues will be overcome in due time!
