WA govt will get a review from Western Power etc by the end of this month. The review is supposedly to compare the benefits of the transmission line and construction of a new power station.

A lot of work has already been done regarding the transmission line, its route, cost etc. This work was done over a long period of time.

A lot more time and effort will be required for looking into the new power station option and that will need substantial funds too.

Considering the timeline of development of Oakajee port and iron ore cos, the transmission line option looks quicker and has additional benefits such as meeting future Perth power shortage, and using already existing clean energy power plants like that of AVIVA
